To make the holidays extra meaningful this year at Propak Corporation, Propak Cares hosted a fun and trendy clothing charity event. We decided to support Save the Children’s holiday campaign to “Make the World Better with a Sweater!” Propak has supported various charities like Save the Children and the United Way for more than 15 years. Each year, the annual campaign is sponsored by Company executives at Propak and a group of volunteers who plan and execute a week of fundraising activities and donations. Donations made by Propak’s employees play a critical role in meeting the goal.
Save the Children is a charity that is dedicated to ensuring every child has the best chance for success. Donations to Save the Children help in various ways. They provide emergency preparedness backpacks filled with supplies and guidance for a class of students in a high-risk community, a daily healthy afternoon snack for a child in their programs, and child-friendly materials for children in a Save the Children shelter.
Participation was encouraged to all Propak sites, from our corporate and logistic offices to our plant facilities. Employees were asked to wear their most “festive” holiday sweater on December 12th and make a donation of their choice to the Save the Children Foundation. “Co-sponsoring this worthy cause was both fun and rewarding,” shared Phillip Langford, Senior Vice President of Logistics. “I was extremely pleased and humbled to see so many here at Propak share of their time, talent, and resources.” Propak Corporation agreed to match all employee donations and the Propak site with the highest participation and most money raised was rewarded a free team lunch.
Propak Corporation is excited to announce that a grand total of $7,320 was raised for the Save the Children campaign! Propak thanks all their employees for their participation and looks forward to continuing to help and serve the community in 2015 with their Propak Cares Campaign. “It is important that we continue to seek ways to help those in need within our communities,” said Mr. Langford. “The fact that we recruit and retain employees that have a genuine interest in leading these initiatives year after year is a statement to the importance we place on helping others at Propak.”
